If you are currently facing strong opposition, it can be a sign that God is bringing you into a larger place.
In the Kingdom, promotion hardly comes without resistance. While the natural reaction is to ask God to remove the opposition, there is often a deeper purpose behind it which is a victory to be won or a specific instruction God wants you to receive through the process.
This kind of opposition is what Scripture refers to as a “thorn in the flesh.” It requires wisdom and precision to handle or it can become a trap to your soul.
A thorn in the flesh can show up as people who intentionally create discomfort, tension or frustration in your environment. Sometimes, their goal is simply to wear you out or push you out.
Because of this, you must be intentional and spiritually discerning in how you respond.
Now, handling spiritual warfare rests on two key truths:
• Thorns are not handled by natural reactions. Respond with joy, resist the urge to immediately pray for the removal of the adversary.
• Love is the pathway to complete victory. Pray with love as your foundation. Pray Philippians 1:9–11, asking to grow in love and discernment. You are not called to fight in bitterness, but to stand in love. A joyful and loving warrior cannot be defeated.
PRAYER:
• Ask for God’s grace in this season. The enemy’s aim is to provoke hatred and bitterness but grace empowers you to rise above it.
• Speak with authority against the spiritual force behind the opposition and ask God to give you victory over the situation.

Stay in the Word, spend time reading the Bible. In it, you’ll receive clarity and specific direction for your situation.
