DAY 3 — ROOTED IN CHRIST, NOT EMOTION

Anchor Scripture

Colossians 2:6–7
“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.”

Opening Thought

Emotions change daily.
Christ does not.

If your walk with God rises and falls with how you feel, you are not rooted yet.

Reflection

Many believers mistake emotional intensity for spiritual depth.
They feel close to God when emotions are high and distant when emotions fade.
But emotions were never designed to be a foundation.

Paul tells us to be rooted in Christ, not in experiences, moods, or moments.

Roots are unseen, but they determine survival.
A tree does not stand because of its leaves; it stands because of its roots.

When faith is emotional:

  • Obedience becomes inconsistent

  • Commitment weakens under pressure

  • Discipline collapses when feelings shift

But when faith is rooted in Christ:

  • Obedience remains steady

  • Prayer continues even when it feels dry

  • Truth governs choices, not moods

Establishment requires depth.
God is not building excitement; He is building endurance.

This season, God is moving you from feeling-led faith to truth-rooted faith.
From emotional Christianity to established Christianity.

You are not established because you feel strong.
You are established because you remain planted when feelings fluctuate.

Prayer

Father, I thank You for anchoring my life in Christ.
Deliver me from emotional instability in my walk with You.
Root me deeply in Your Word and in truth.
Help me to obey consistently, pray faithfully, and stand firm regardless of how I feel.
Establish me in Christ and settle my faith.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
