Haggai 2:9 – “The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts…”
Isaiah 60:1 – “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.”
Psalm 3:3 – “But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.”
“A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children…”
“We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD…”
“When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee… which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice…”
Legacy is more than money — it is impact, values, wisdom, faith, and foundations that outlive you. God designed life so that each generation builds a platform for the next. What you do today becomes the launching pad for your children and their children.
Proverbs 13:22 reminds us that a good man leaves something behind. Psalm 78:4 shows that legacy involves teaching, storytelling, and passing down spiritual heritage. And in 2 Timothy 1:5, we see how faith can be transferred like a spiritual inheritance — from grandmother to mother to son.
Your legacy is being written every day:
What values are you modeling?
What sacrifices are you making?
What wisdom will your children remember?
What spiritual foundation are you laying?
Legacy is intentional. You don’t stumble into it — you build it.
God wants you to establish a foundation that the next generation can stand on: a foundation of truth, prayer, integrity, generosity, faith, and vision.
Your latter glory includes the glory of generational impact — the blessing of knowing your life will continue to speak after you are gone.
Father, help me build a legacy that honors You. Let my life invest into the next generation. Give me the wisdom, discipline, and foresight to lay foundations of faith, integrity, and purpose. May those who come after me rise higher because of the seeds I sow today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
I am building a legacy of faith, wisdom, and impact.
The next generation will rise higher because of my obedience.
My life plants seeds that will speak for years.
I leave a spiritual and generational inheritance that honors God.
My legacy is blessed, purposeful, and anchored in Christ.
Write down three things you want the next generation to remember about your life — and take one action today that aligns with that legacy.
