Thanksgiving Service Sunday
Text: Matthew 15:21–28
INTRODUCTION
Every great turnaround begins with one divine encounter.
In today’s text, we meet a woman from Canaan — desperate, persistent, and determined to see her daughter healed. Her story reminds us that sometimes, God’s silence doesn’t mean God’s absence.
Silence can be God’s way of drawing us closer, not pushing us away.

SCRIPTURE INSIGHT
📖 Matthew 15:21–28
“Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying,
Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
But he answered her not a word…”
Even the disciples begged Jesus to send her away — but she refused to give up. Her tenacity is what birthed her miracle.
THE STAGES OF HER JOURNEY
The woman’s persistence reveals a divine pattern for breakthrough:
- She prayed — but heaven was silent.
- She pleaded for mercy — yet the silence continued.
- She revealed revelation — she recognized Jesus as the Son of David.
- She tried connection — the disciples, but they couldn’t help.
Still… no response.
Beloved, there are times when heaven seems silent even when you’re doing everything right. That’s the moment to press deeper — not give up.
THE GAME CHANGER: WORSHIP
Then the game changed.
“Then came she and worshipped Him, saying, Lord, help me.” — Matthew 15:25
Worship is a cry for help!
When words fail, worship speaks. When reason ends, worship begins.
Worship is not a slow song; it’s a surrender that shifts the atmosphere.
It brings God into your situation. Prayer seeks His hand, but worship attracts His presence.
WHEN WORSHIP INVITES GOD’S HELP
Isaiah 50:7
“For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded.”
There are things money, mentors, machines, or materials cannot do — but mercy and worship will do them.
That’s what happened to Paul and Silas in prison. When they prayed, nothing changed — but when they sang praises, the earth shook and their chains broke (Acts 16:25–26).
Worship brings divine response where logic fails.
THE POWER OF WORSHIP IN HARD TIMES
Habakkuk 3:17–18
“Although the fig tree shall not blossom,
neither shall fruit be in the vines;
the labour of the olive shall fail,
and the fields shall yield no meat;
yet I will rejoice in the LORD,
I will joy in the God of my salvation.”
Even when nothing seems to work, worship still works.
Because after rejoicing, the Lord steps in!
Habakkuk 3:19
“The LORD God is my strength;
He will make my feet like hinds’ feet,
and make me to walk upon my high places.”
When you choose to worship in the midst of lack, pain, or silence — God gives you strength for your next season.
PRAYER MOMENT
Let’s Pray
Is there something you are trusting God for?
Right where you are — begin to worship! 🔥
You can pray amiss, but you can never praise amiss.
Worship until His presence fills your room, your heart, your situation.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
They thought they left you behind…
But soon, they will meet you in front, in Jesus’ name.
Amen and Amen!
SUMMARY TAKEAWAY
- Worship is the true game changer.
