Digital Discernment in a Noisy World

Reflection

We live in a world where our phones speak more than our pastors, notifications ring louder than our conscience, and algorithms know our patterns better than our prayer life. Every swipe, scroll, and click is shaping your worldview — either towards Christ or away from Him.

Discernment in the digital age is not about abandoning technology; it’s about governing it. Freedom and dominion demand that you do not let your devices discipline you more than the Holy Spirit. Not every “Christian quote,” trending preacher clip, or viral doctrine online is sound. Some are distractions wrapped in inspiration.

Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice.” That means in the midst of millions of voices, you must know which one is His. Before you share it, believe it, or let it influence your mood — test it by the Word. If it stirs fear, pride, comparison, or confusion, it’s not from the Shepherd.

Let your phone become your tool, not your trap. Scroll with purpose. Engage with discernment. And let your spirit stay louder than your screen.

Prayer

Lord, give me discernment in this digital age. Help me recognize Your voice above every distraction. Sanctify my screens and purify my feed. Amen.
