Anchor Scriptures for the Month (NKJV)
“He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.” — Colossians 1:13
“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” — John 8:36
Proverbs 15:1 — “A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”
Matthew 5:5 — “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.”
James 1:19–20 — “Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.”
In a world that glorifies “having the last word,” walking away has become a forgotten virtue. Yet true dominion is not proven by how loud you speak, but by how calm you stay when provoked.
Many tragedies begin with a single moment of uncontrolled anger — in homes, workplaces, gatherings, or even traffic. What could have ended with silence often ends with violence. Anger has sent many to early graves and countless others to prison.
Sometimes the greatest expression of power is restraint. Jesus, the Lion of Judah, stood silent before His accusers (Matthew 27:12–14). He had all authority but chose meekness over retaliation.
In relationships, friendships, and daily encounters, toxic arguments can turn deadly when pride and anger are left unchecked. Walking away doesn’t make you a coward — it makes you wise. It preserves your peace, your dignity, and sometimes, your life.
Dominion over others begins with dominion over self. When you can control your reactions, you walk in freedom that no provocation can steal.
Father, give me the wisdom to discern when to speak and when to walk away. Deliver me from the spirit of anger, pride, and contention. Let meekness and patience rule my heart, that I may walk in true dominion and peace. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Today, make this your goal: don’t win the argument — win your peace.
If provoked, stay calm. Walk away if you must.
Pray before you speak, and remember — the one who controls his tongue controls his destiny.
