“He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.” — Colossians 1:13
“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” — John 8:36
Proverbs 16:32 — “Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.”
1 Corinthians 13:4-5 — “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.”
Romans 12:12 — “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
Patience is not weakness — it is strength under control.
It is one of the fruits of the Spirit and a vital proof that Christ truly reigns within you. When you are faced with a storm, a dilemma, or a moment of provocation, your first victory is not over the problem but over yourself.
The Scripture says, “Be still and know that I am God.” Being still is not inactivity; it is an act of faith — an invitation for God to step into your situation. Every time you choose patience over anger, you give Heaven room to fight for you.
God often tests our patience before promotion. If you fail, you repeat the lesson; if you pass, you are elevated. Sometimes, these tests come through those closest to you — your spouse, children, parents, or coworkers. The greatest test often comes from your partner, because marriage refines character more than comfort.
To tolerate differences without conflict, to respond with calmness under pressure, and to remain kind when provoked — this is dominion in action.
You cannot claim to rule nations if you cannot rule your emotions. Freedom in Christ includes mastery over your temper, tone, and timing.
The patient man may look slow, but he is actually winning in the Spirit. He avoids regret, he preserves peace, and he positions himself for God’s best.
Father, thank You for the fruit of patience working in me. Teach me to be still when provoked and to trust You when pressured. Deliver me from anger, pride, and every reaction that grieves Your Spirit. Let my calmness become a weapon of victory. Grant me dominion over my emotions, my words, and my responses — in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Today, pause before you react.
Count to three. Breathe. Pray. Then respond with grace.
When next you feel provoked — whether by your spouse, a driver, or a coworker — choose patience instead of power. That’s true dominion.
